Bhopal: In a significant move, the Madhya Pradesh government on Tuesday decided to abolish the sanctioned temporary posts in its various departments and convert them to permanent posts.

The state cabinet chaired by chief minister Mohan Yadav has ‘approved measures to eliminate distinction between sanctioned permanent and temporary posts in various state government departments’, an official spokesman said here.

Approvals have been accorded to make necessary provisions in service recruitment rules to convert existing sanctioned temporary posts into permanent posts, the spokesman explained.

The cabinet also approved a proposal to declare all posts under work-charged and contingency establishments as none-sanctioned and not to make new appointments to these posts.

The cadre of temporary posts has been declared ‘dyeing cadre’ and no appointment will be made in these posts after retirement of the employees of this cadre.

The cabinet also approved a special package of Rs 1,782 crore for families affected by submergence due to the Upper Narmada Project, Raghopur Multipurpose Project and Basania Multipurpose Project in Anuppur, Mandla and Dindori districts respectively.

This special package of Rs 1,782 crore has been approved in addition to the Rs 1,656 crore already provided in the Detail Project Report (DPR) for the affected families.

The cabinet also approved the proposal to sanction Rs 48 crore for the establishment of six Forest Science Centers in the state over the next four years.
