Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked his 75th birthday by laying the foundation stone of India’s first PM MITRA Textile Park in Dhar and launching women’s health and nutrition initiatives.

Dhar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said Indian soldiers brought Pakistan to its knees “in the blink of an eye” during Operation Sindoor, as he laid the foundation stone of the country’s first Pradhan Mantri Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) Park in Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh.

Addressing a large rally, Modi said, “Our brave soldiers brought Pakistan to its knees in the blink of an eye. Just yesterday, the world saw a Pakistani terrorist weeping and recounting his plight.” He was referring to a viral video of a Jaish-e-Mohammad commander admitting that Indian forces struck terror hideouts, killing the family of Masood Azhar, the group’s chief, in Bahawalpur.

“This is the New India, which does not fear any nuclear threats. It enters the enemy’s house and strikes,” the PM declared, adding that terrorists from Pakistan had desecrated the vermilion of India’s “sisters and daughters” and that Operation Sindoor demolished their launch pads.

Making a strong pitch for swadeshi, Modi urged Indians to buy only local products during the festival season. “I have a humble request to my 140 crore countrymen—whatever you buy, it should be made in India. It should carry the fragrance of our soil,” he said, suggesting that shops selling Indian goods display boards with the message, “Garv se kaho yeh swadeshi hai.”

The Prime Minister also launched two major initiatives—Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar, aimed at improving women’s health, and the 8th Rashtriya Poshan Maah, focused on nutrition and healthy food practices. Appealing directly to women, he said, “All I ask from my mothers and sisters is that you attend these camps without hesitation. Tests and medicines are free. State treasury is not more important than your health.”

Reiterating his government’s focus on maternal and child welfare, Modi said, “In a developed Bharat, we must reduce maternal and infant mortality. With this goal in mind, we launched the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana in 2017.”

Highlighting India’s progress, Modi said 25 crore people had been pulled out of poverty in the last 11 years, attributing the success to people’s support and “the blessings of crores of mothers and sisters.”

Earlier, he inaugurated the PM MITRA Park project at Bhainsola village, spread over 2,158 acres, which will feature modern infrastructure including effluent treatment, solar power facilities, continuous utilities, and 81 plug-and-play units. Textile companies have proposed investments worth Rs 23,146 crore.

Marking his 75th birthday, Modi recalled that on September 17, 1948, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s iron will ensured Hyderabad’s liberation. “The Indian Army safeguarded the rights of its people and restored India’s pride. We now observe this day as Hyderabad Liberation Day, with a grand celebration in Hyderabad today,” he said.

This was Modi’s second visit to Madhya Pradesh on his birthday. In 2022, he had released eight cheetahs from Namibia in Kuno National Park. At the end of the programme, the Prime Minister accepted greetings from the crowd on his birthday.
