Maoists Dumps In Abujhmad Yield Over Rs One Crore Cash, Huge Cache Of Automatic Weapons, Ammunition, Explosives

Raipur: Maoist dumps found by the security forces over a month in Abujhmad under Narayanpur district in south Bastar of Chhattisgarh have yielded more than Rs one crore cash, a huge cache of automatic weapons, ammunition and explosives, police said on Tuesday.
The Naxal dumps were unearthed following inputs given by the surrendered Maoists, police intelligence, and local people, Bastar range inspector general of police P Sunderraj said.
A special anti-Naxal operation was launched in Narayanpur district after Chhattisgarh was declared free from armed Naxals on March 31 to locate and unearth the Maoist dumps, Narayanpur district superintendent of police Robinson Guria said.
The Naxal dumps, found in the last one month, have yielded Rs 1.01 crore cash, including Rs 14 lakh from one dump alone, along with 28 weapons, cartridges, explosive materials and daily use goods, he said.
The weapons recovered included three AK 47 rifles, three SLR rifles, two .303 rifles, one .315 bore rifle, two 12-bore guns, two country-made pistols and one air gun.
Besides, a huge cache of cartridges, two Barrel Grenade Launchers (BGLs), 132 BGL shells, and eight electronic detonators were also recovered.
