Major Transformation In Progress For Upgradation Of Railway Stations
The mission got a major boost when the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for station redevelopment in the state of Telangana during August, 2023 and February, 2024.
HYDERABAD: With a vision to provide world-class facilities to the passengers, a major transformation is in progress for Indian Railways with upgradation of railway stations on a massive scale under “Amrit Station Scheme.”
Accordingly, railway stations across the country have been identified to redevelop as Amrit Station to provide modern passenger amenities and to convert them into growth centres to the regional population.
The mission got a major boost when the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for station redevelopment in the state of Telangana during August, 2023 and February, 2024.
The Amrit Station policy was formulated by the ministry of railways, which is aimed to modernise railway stations, envisaging development on a continuous basis with a long-term vision.
