Kishan: HILT Will Hurt Farmers, Workers
Kishan Reddy also questioned whether the Chief Minister had assessed the consequences of multipurpose commercial complexes that could come up in the city following the implementation of HILT: Reports
HYDERABAD: Union coal minister G. Kishan Reddy on Wednesday criticised the state government over the Hyderabad Industrial Lands Transformation (HILT) policy, alleging that it was introduced without consulting key stakeholders.
Speaking to the media in Delhi, Kishan Reddy accused the Congress government of favouring industrialists at the expense of farmers. He claimed that the HILT policy was designed to benefit big businessmen and said the decision was taken without discussions with those working in the industrial sector. He questioned whether the government had considered the future of the lakhs of workers dependent on these industries.
Kishan Reddy also questioned whether the Chief Minister had assessed the consequences of multipurpose commercial complexes that could come up in the city following the implementation of HILT. Expressing concern, he warned that Hyderabad could face the fate of Bengaluru. He said investments had begun retreating from Bengaluru due to severe traffic congestion and industries were shifting elsewhere, and asked whether the government wanted Hyderabad to suffer the same situation.
