J&K: CISF Jawan Opens Fire After Altercation, Kills Four Personnel Including Assistant Commandant
Assistant Commandant among those killed after a jawan allegedly opened fire following a dispute
Jammu: In a fratricidal incident, four Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel, including an Assistant Commandant, were killed after a jawan opened indiscriminate fire following a dispute with a colleague in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district.
The incident occurred at Mashka village near the Himachal Pradesh border, where the personnel were deployed to secure the Sewa-III hydroelectric power project. According to preliminary reports, an argument broke out between two jawans, following which one of them discharged his service weapon indiscriminately, leaving four personnel dead on the spot.
Senior officials along with police teams rushed to the site to take control of the area and assess the situation. An investigation is underway to determine the circumstances leading up to the altercation.
