J&K: Army Foils Infiltration Bid In URI; AK-56 And Grenades Recovered

NEW DELHI: The Army on Tuesday is reported to have foiled an infiltration bid from across the line of control (LoC) in the Uri sector in J&K. According to reports, an Army unit deployed at the forward position spotted a suspicious person with a backpack moving towards the LoC. Security forces challenged the person and fired shots to foil the infiltration bid.
Troops cordoned off the area and launched a search operation during which the troops found, among others, a Chinese AK=56 rifle along with its magazine, a pistol hand grenade.
The search was still on to capture the infiltrator.
