Jabalpur Factory Cancels Staff Leaves To Meet Production Targets
The unit is manufacturing the ammunition for the Army, the Navy and the Air Force
BHOPAL: Authorities of ordnance factory Khamaria (OFK) in Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur district have cancelled leaves of more than two days of the officers and employees.
The decision was taken to meet the production target, OFK Public Relations Officer (PRO) Avinash Shankar told the media.
The OFK has not achieved the desired target in April and since the target set for this fiscal is huge, it has been asked by the headquarters to cancel the leaves to ensure that sufficient workforce is available for the purpose, the PRO said.
The OFK which is one of the biggest units of Munitions India Limited (MIL) employs around 4,000 people.
The official website of the OFK said the unit’s mission is to produce state-of-the-art battlefield equipment.
As per the website, the unit is manufacturing the ammunition for the Army, the Navy and the Air Force.
The website says that the vision of the unit is to ‘equip our armed forces with modern defence and battlefield equipment’ and to ‘increase customer base in defence, non-defence and export markets and establish global presence’.
