Indrakeeladri Giri Pradakshina Begins; UP Minister Visits Temple
Uttar Pradesh's minister of state Manohar Lal Mannu Kori visited the Durga Malleswara Swamy temple (Durga) atop Indrakeeladri in Vijayawada on Saturday.

VIJAYAWADA: Uttar Pradesh's minister of state Manohar Lal Mannu Kori visited the Durga Malleswara Swamy temple (Durga) atop Indrakeeladri in Vijayawada on Saturday.
He was accompanied by prominent astrologer Krishnamacharya, BJP leader Paturi Nagabhushanam and others. The temple executive officer, V.K. Seena Naik, welcomed the minister and his entourage with a ceremonial reception.
After offering prayers, the EO presented the minister with a laminated photograph of the Goddess and prasadam while providing him with information about ongoing and planned development programmes at the temple.
In the morning, Indrakeeladri Giri Pradakshina began grandly from the Sri Kamadhenu Ammavaru temple at the Ghat Road entrance after the EO performed special pujas. The event witnessed Tappetagullu, Kolatam dance performances, Bhajan Sankirtans, art performances by devotional groups amid Vedic chantings by scholars. It passed through Kumari Palem Centre, Vidyadharapuram, Milk Factory, Chittinagar, Kotha Peta, Brahmin Street and back to Indrakeeladri.
Thousands of devotees participated in this programme and had darshan of the presiding deity. Temple Sthanacharya Shiva Prasad Sharma, Vedic Committee member Sridhar and others conducted special pujas on the occasion.
