SPJIMR, Great Learning Partner to Expand AI-Led Executive Education Portfolio
Addresses the growing demand for leaders who can govern, scale, and create business value through AI
Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s S.P. Jain Institute of Management & Research (SPJIMR), one of India’s top business schools, has partnered with Great Learning, a leading global edtech platform, to launch a portfolio of AI-led executive programmes for working professionals. Combining SPJIMR’s academic rigour with Great Learning’s executive education ecosystem, the collaboration aims to equip managers, senior leaders, and CXOs with the capabilities to lead AI-enabled business transformation and create measurable organisational value.
Developed and delivered by SPJIMR faculty with Great Learning’s industry experts, the portfolio responds to the growing need for leaders who can move beyond understanding AI to governing, scaling, and applying it responsibly across business functions.
The programmes include the Executive Programme in AI for Business Leaders, the Executive Certificate Programme in Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI for Managers, and the Chief Financial Officer Programme. Together, they address the increasing convergence of AI, business strategy, leadership, governance, and finance.
The urgency is reflected in recent global research. An IBM global CEO study of 2,000 leaders across 33 countries found that 85% of CEOs expect every functional leader, from finance and marketing to operations, to become a technology expert within their domain. As technology becomes inseparable from business strategy, organisations increasingly need leaders who can combine domain expertise with strategic AI capability.
The Executive Programme in AI for Business Leaders is a seven-month programme designed to equip senior professionals with the strategic and practical capabilities to lead AI-driven business transformation. The curriculum comprises six core modules covering AI strategy, data and analytics, machine learning, generative AI, agentic AI, and AI leadership, governance, and scaling, followed by a specialisation track and a capstone project. Participants can tailor their learning by choosing from specialisations in Financial Services and FinTech, Supply Chain and Operations, Digital Marketing and MarTech, or Technology Leadership. The programme also includes a campus immersion, enabling participants to engage with faculty and peers while gaining hands-on exposure to the latest AI applications in business.
The Chief Financial Officer Programme is a nine-month blended learning programme for finance professionals aspiring to senior leadership roles. Built around SPJIMR’s case-based pedagogy, it develops strategic capabilities across financial leadership, corporate valuation, risk management, governance, forensic accounting, and AI-enabled finance transformation.
The Executive Certificate Programme in Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI for Managers is a five-month fully online programme designed for early and mid-career professionals seeking to build practical and strategic AI capabilities, with no prior coding experience required. The programme enables participants to develop AI strategies, build scalable business cases, and lead enterprise-wide AI transformation with robust governance and measurable business outcomes. It covers Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), agentic AI workflows, AI economics, governance, and responsible AI, while addressing key considerations such as compliance, privacy, explainability, and regulatory alignment.
Commenting on the partnership, Dr. Varun Nagaraj, Dean and Professor, Information Management, SPJIMR said, "Management education has always existed to bridge the gap between the demands of the business and the readiness of its leaders. Today, that gap is defined by AI. Organisations need leaders who can do far more than understand the technology; they must govern it, scale it, and create value from it responsibly. At SPJIMR, we develop leaders who combine rigour with judgement. Our collaboration with Great Learning enables us to extend this philosophy to a wider community of working professionals, equipping them to lead confidently in an AI-enabled world."
Commenting on the launch, Mohan Lakhamraju, Founder & CEO, Great Learning, said, "The gap between experimenting with AI and scaling it across the organization comes down to leadership. It is not enough to simply understand the technology. Executives have to connect AI to organizational strategy, exercise sound judgment, and maintain strict accountability for outcomes. That is why we are partnering with SPJIMR. Together, we are moving beyond the hype to define a new standard for executive readiness—one that ensures leaders aren't just participants in the AI economy, but the ones driving it."
The programmes will be delivered through a blend of live online sessions led by SPJIMR faculty, mentored learning with Great Learning’s extensive network of industry practitioners, case-based pedagogy, hands-on projects, and campus immersions for select offerings. Participants will benefit from peer learning, executive networking opportunities, and exposure to real-world applications of AI across business strategy, governance, finance, and organisational transformation. Upon successful completion, learners will receive a Certificate of Completion from SPJIMR, with select programmes also conferring Executive Alumni Status.
SPJIMR is ranked #35 globally and #3 in India in the Financial Times Masters in Management 2025 Ranking, reinforcing its reputation for academic excellence, career outcomes, and values-driven management education.
