Saudi worker’s body reaches Dichpally, last rites performed

NIZAMABAD: The body of Surukutla Praveen Kumar, 36, who died on the spot after he fell from the top of stairs while working at a construction site in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, reached his native Doosgoan village in Dichpally mandal on Friday.

Praveen Kumar is survived by wife Samatha and daughters Advitha and Vedasri.

Indian Embassy in Riyadh and NRI cell of the Telangana state government took the initiative to bring the body of the migrant worker to his native place.

Migrants’ welfare forum president Kotapati Narasimha Naidu said usually, it takes one month to 45 days’ time for a body to reach India. In Praveen's case, it happened within a fortnight.

A pall of gloom descended in Doosgoan village when the body arrived. Later, family members performed the last rites for the deceased in which the villagers participated
