GHMC Plans to Build Multi-Level Parking
HYDERABAD: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is planning to build a multi-level parking complex near KBR Park in Jubilee Hills. The parking is likely to come up at the 1980s Military Hotel located near the lung space.
“The project will be built under Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode. The works related to it, including preparing estimates, will commence after the first week of June,” said a GHMC official.
With the available space, around 60 to 70 cars can be accommodated in the multi-level parking and the final plan with the expenditure estimate will be made only after a visit to the site scheduled after June first week.
Another official from the GHMC said that a foolproof plan will be put in place before the works commence to ensure that there are no hurdles from the Telangana forest department or environmental activists,
Earlier, the BRS government had released a government order (GO) allowing high rise buildings around KBR Park and the corporation officials have decided to use the same order if an objection is raised related to the height of the multi-level parking. The BRS government had issued the order to allow two companies to raise high rise buildings near the KBR park.
