Baby Cape Vessel berths at Vizag Port

VISHAKHAPATNAM: A Baby Cape Vessel named MV GCL Sabarmati with overall length of 253.50 metres and beam of 43 meters successfully berthed at West Quay-1 for the first time on Saturday.

The vessel, with a capacity of 1,06,529 deadweight tonnage, had arrived at Visakhapatnam Port carrying limestone.

Sanjay Sinha takes over Simhadri NTPC

Sanjay Kumar Sinha has taken over from G.C. Choukse as head of NTPC at Simhadri in Parwada mandal of Visakhapatnam on Saturday.

Sanjay is a graduate in mechanical engineering from Bihar Institute of Technology, Jharkhand. He joined NTPC in 1988 as an executive trainee. His first posting was at Singrauli in 1989 in operation department.

DRM inspects railway stations, colonies

Waltair divisional railway manager Anup Satpathy inspected Pendurthi and Kothavalasa railway stations and colonies on Saturday. Specifically, he checked out waiting halls, railway offices, foot over bridges and water outlets.

He suggested that additional streetlights be provided in the colonies and amenities improved at the railway quarters.
