Hyderabad: City Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi on Tuesday met her New York City counterpart Eric Adams and said Hyderabad was working to increase opportunities in business and mutual cooperation with developed cities through sister-city relationships.

Both Mayors paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi at New York City Hall. According to a statement issued by Vijayalakshmi, Adams expressed happiness that Hyderabad, a city famous since ancient times, was transforming into a global city and becoming famous at the international level.

Earlier, California City had signed an MoU to forge a sister-city relationship with Hyderabad. Vijayalakshmi said Hyderabad was taking assistance in terms of culture, academy and mutual opportunities. She asked Adams to visit Hyderabad before April 30 to view the developed areas, technology and other exchange agreements as per the MoU made as part of the sister city relationship.
