Schools, colleges in Andhra Pradesh to reopen on Nov. 2

Classes 6, 7 and 8 will function on half-a-day basis

VIJAYAWADA: The state government has decided to reopen all educational institutions on November 2 by putting in place all Covid-19 precautionary measures and protocols.

Chief Secretary Nilam Sawhney issued modified guidelines for reopening of educational institutions on Thursday. She said that schools will run on alternate days in three phases for which officials are making arrangements. She mentioned that Classes 9, 10, 11 and Intermediate first and second year would function on alternate days only for half-a-day and on a rotation basis.

Sawhney said that Classes 6,7 and 8 will start functioning on a half-a-day basis from November 23 . She stated that Classes 1,2,3, 4 and 5 will begin on December 14 and on alternate days and on half-a-day basis.  She added that the same schedule would apply to all government schools and colleges.
