Ministerial sub-committee to take up staff issues with CM Jagan
Vijayawada: The ministerial sub-committee met leaders of the various trade unions at the AP State Secretariat on Tuesday regarding the implementation of Guaranteed Pension Scheme (GPS) for government employees in the state. The sub-committee assured the employee leaders that all objections raised by the unions and associations will be put up before Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Those who participated in the meeting include education minister Botsa Satyanarayana, finance minister Buggana Rajendranath, municipal minister Adimulapu Suresh, government advisor (Public Affairs) Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, chief secretary Dr. K.S. Jawahar Reddy, special chief secretary (Finance) S.S. Rawat, chief secretary (HR) Chiranjeevi Chaudhary, government adviser (Employee Welfare) N. Chandrasekhar Reddy, finance secretary Dr. K.V.V. Satyanarayana and N. Gulzar.
Minister Satyanarayana maintained that the old pension scheme (OPS) is a closed chapter. They have brought GPS on the lines of the OPS, which also favours the employees.
He underlined that pension is guaranteed to employees in GPS compared to CPS. AP Government Employees Association general secretary Gonti Askar Rao said all employee unions have raised their concerns about GPS. He said the Chief Minister, who has brought in revolutionary reforms in various sectors, can implement OPS for the welfare of employees.
Askar Rao stated that the ministerial sub-committee assured them to take all their objections to the notice of CM and resolve them at earliest. AP NGO Association general secretary Siva Reddy, AP Secretariat Employees Association president K. Venkatami Reddy, AP Revenue Services Association president Bopparaju Venkateswarlu, and CPS Employees Association representatives Rajesh, Naba Prasad and Yugandhar were among those who participated in the meeting.
