KOZHIKODE: A protest march taken out by the Muslim Students Federation to the DDE office here on Monday turned violent and 10 students, including state president Misbah Keezhariyoor, were injured in the clashes with the police.  The injured, including district secretary S.M. Abdul Basith, Sayed Sharafudheen Jifri Thangal, Afnas Chorode, Noorudheen, Shabinas Ali, Sabith Mayanad, Shameel Pazhoor, Irfan Vellimadukunnu and Hasanul Banna Payyoli, were admitted  to the Government Medical College hospital.

The protest march was against the anti-student policies of the government and the delay in supplying  textbooks in schools even when the first terminal examination was nearing. The incidents started after the student leaders met DDE Gireesh Cholayil and submitted a petition to him. Soon after they tried to come out of the exit door, there was a scuffle which turned violent. Later, the MSF activists protested and sought the release of the arrested leaders.
