Mom abandons newborn girl in Keesara

Hyderabad: A newborn girl was found abandoned in Keesara on Saturday. The child was wrapped in a gunny bag. She was shifted to Shishu Vihar after first aid.
Police said that on Saturday people found a newborn by the roadside in Nethajinagar in Nagaram village. They informed the sarpanch and he alerted the police.

Police rushed to the spot and shifted the child to a nearby primary health centre where doctors said the child was out of danger. She was later shifted to a Shishu Vihar in Ameerpet. Police registered a case under Section 317 (abandonment of child under 12 years). They said they are checking details about women who had recently given birth in the village and in hospitals located in surrounding areas.
