2nd Yonex-Sunrise All India Sub-Junior Tournament From November 1

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Badminton Association (APBA) is hosting AP CM Jagan's Yonex-Sunrise 2nd All India Sub-Junior Ranking Badminton Tournament in Vijayawada from Wednesday, November 1, to November 8.

Around 2,200 players from across the country, including 15 who are ranked internationally, will be participating. Winners and runners-up will get prize money of Rs 6 lakh.

Addressing media here on Sunday, APBA president and Nellore Urban Development Authority (NUDA) chairman Mukkala Dwarakanath said the matches will take place at Dandamudi Rajagopala Rao Municipal Corporation Indoor Stadium, Chennupati Ramakotaiah Municipal Corporation Indoor Stadium, and Sai Sandeep Badminton Academy.

Youth Advancement minister RK Roja and government advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy will inaugurate the tournament on Wednesday November 1.

Dwarakanath underlined that Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy gives great importance to sports and games. Hence the tournament has been named after him.

APBA treasurer M. Vamsi Krishna, joint secretary N. Venkat, Krishna district Badminton Association secretary Parasa Srinivas, and vice president M. Prasad were present.
