HYDERABAD: Mohammed Absar Ahmed was inducted as president of the Lions Club of Charminar late on Sunday evening in the club premises, the youngest president of the club to date.

Justice Challa Kodandaram, former judge of the High Court, was chief guest at the event.

The club inducted other members to the office for the year 2023-24 including Firdous Shareef as secretary and Syed Anwar as. Affan Quadri, Moin Baig, Aleem Baig, Sunita Dhontre, Khadeer Khan, Mohd Farooq, and Qazi Kaleem took over the board of directors.

Speaking on the occasion Justice Kodandaram called for large-scale changes in social values so that the people have more confidence in living in society.  He said organisations like the Lions Club play an important role as social conductors of good and they have the social responsibility of erasing the various challenges that the system would not find convenient to deal with.
