Case against JHIC secretary for illegal sale of liquor

HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad prohibition & excise wing registered a case against Jubilee Hills International Centre secretary T. Hanumantha Rao, its manager Cherukuri Murali Naidu and a another person M. Ravi Kumar on charges of diverting liquor supplied to the club for its members into the black market at exorbitant rates.

Officials believe this has been happening for a long time now and came to light the enforcement wing caught a person moving suspiciously near the Railway Officers Club in Mettuguda. On searching, several bottles of liquor were found in his scooter.

On questioning, the person identified as Ravi Kumar, said that the liquor was supplied to JHIC for serving its members.

But the liquor was diverted from the club and was being sold in the black market. Officials are looking into the records of stocks supplied to the club and their consumption, said officials.
