KSRTC fast passenger rams into tourist bus

The KSRTC bus was at great speed and it completely destroyed the front portion of the other bus.

KOLLAM: Several passengers including nine women were injured when a KSRTC fast passenger  bus rammed into a tourist bus at Thattamala near Mevaram here in the wee hours of Sunday. Five including the tourist bus driver Rajendran (51) of Karumam were admitted to the Thiruvananthapuram MCH in critical condition. The incident took place near Thattamala mosque around 5.30 am. The fast passenger bound for Ernakulam lost control and hit the private bus from Kozhikode came on the opposite side.

Eyewitnesses said the KSRTC bus was at great speed and it completely destroyed the front portion of the other bus which slipped off the road under its impact. It stalled vehicular traffic on the highway for nearly an hour. A majority of the injured were the passengers of the KSRTC bus who hurt their head and limbs. They were immediately taken to Kollam district hospital and a nearby private medical college where they were given first aid.
