Attain Self-reliance in Defence Systems, Says Adviser

Vijayawada: Aeronautical Society of India (ASI) president and union defence minister's scientific and technical advisor G. Satish Reddy on Monday underscored the importance of achieving self-reliance in development of defence systems in the country for national security as part of Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan.

Addressing a gathering at the Yarlagadda Sriramulu 20th Endowment Lecture held under the joint aegis of the Institute of Engineers of AP and Malaxmi Group with the theme Evolving Defence Ecosystem towards Atmanirbhar Bharat, Satish Reddy said the Defence Research and Development Organisation has played a key role in realising self-reliance in areas of missiles and advanced defence technologies.

He said the success of Mission Shakti is the testament of a self-reliant and technologically advanced India.

Referring to the special support being extended to small scale sector by the defence research sector, Satish Reddy said technology is being transferred in 90 types of products to 107 organisations across the country, which have become development and production partners.

Malaxmi Group founder mentor Yarlagadda Harichandra Prasad commended the services of Dr. Satish Reddy to the country as DRDO chairman.
