Diwali bonanza: Surat billionaire gifts over 1000 cars, 400 flats to staff

Surat: This Diwali is going to be extra special for the employees of a Surat-based diamond tycoon, as the large-hearted billionaire had decided to give over a 1000 cars and 400 flats to those who performed well as bonus.

According to reports, the diamond merchant Savji Dholakia is the owner of Hare Krishna Exports and is known to give such generous bonuses to his employees every year when Diwali is around the corner.

Dholakia’s company will be bearing a part of the loan instalments on the cars and flats for five years. 1,716 of his staff have been selected as best performers this year and the cars are for those who no own a four-wheeler, where employees who have cars will be getting the flats.

The flats being given to the employees are of 1,100 square feet and cost only at Rs 15 lakh. While the company will be paying the loan instalments for the first five years, the employees will have to start paying after that, but according to Dholakia, the monthly instalment amounts to just Rs 11,000.

Last year too, Dholakia had gifted over 490 cars and 200 flats to his company’s employees.
