Mangaluru/Udupi: Fish is likely to be a scarce commodity in the coming days in the state with almost all fishing boats anchored in the harbours of coastal Karnataka because of the rough sea, wind and rain, forced by a cyclone which has forced fishermen to anchor their boats about a week before the actual end of the fishing season.

The ban on mechanised boat fishing usually comes into force for two months from June 10. But the fishing boats are already anchored at fishing harbours in the coastal districts as the sea has turned rough due to the two cyclones in the Arabian Sea with authorities  sending a warning to fishermen.
