Two men get seven years of jail for raping two minors

HYDERABAD: Two youngsters A. Ganesh and B. Ravi Kumar, accused of raping two minor girls in 2016, were sentenced to rigorous imprisonment for seven years. The accused had picked up the girls from Marredpally and took them to Boduppal where they raped them.

During the trial, the victims deposed about how the accused lured and took them to Boduppal and raped them in an isolated location. This combined with the medical reports and evidences of both eyewitness and circumstantial, led to the accused getting punishment.

The court also imposed a Rs 2,000 fine on each of the accused. In September 2016, the victims, then 14 and 15, had come out of their house to buy soft drinks. The accused, who are known to the victims, lured them and took them on their bikes saying they could buy drinks.

After raping them, they dropped the victims near Gandhi Hospital and fled. Later, the girls informed their family members and lodged a complaint. A case was registered and the accused were arrested.
