HYDERABAD: The BJP on Saturday accused the state government of keeping under wraps, the process of selection of beneficiaries for two-bedroom houses and demanded that details of all applicants be made public. Party state vice-president N.V.S.S. Prabhakar, a former Uppal MLA, said that though the government was saying that the beneficiaries are being selected through a draw of lots, the list from which they were being selected had the names of applicants whose applications are approved by local BRS MLAs.

“There is no transparency in the allotment of the houses. The BRS leaders are using the same process in selection of Dalit Bandhu and giving Rs 1 lakh financial assistance to BCs and minorities communities. The High Court should take suo motu cognisance of the goings-on and order a probe,” he said.

He said Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao deceived people saying that 1,000 to 2,000 houses will be built in each constituency, but the latest GO issued by the BRS government shows that only 500 houses will be allotted in each constituency. “KCR must apologise to the people for lying to them,” Prabhakar said.
