VMC to organise riverside food festival from April 29

Vijayawada: The Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) will organise its first-ever riverside food festival with the theme "Flavours of India" at Punnami Ghat in Bhavanipuram on the banks of the Krishna River from April 29 to May 7.

Vijayawada mayor Rayana Bhagyalakshmi said that the culinary festival was originally slated to take place from April 15 to 23, however it was postponed owing to unavoidable circumstances. She stated that VMC is making every effort to promote India's rich and delectable cuisine culture.

She stated that numerous well-known Punjabi, Rajasthani, Delhi, Kerala, and Tandoori restaurants from throughout the country will be bringing their dishes to the Flavours of India festival. She went on to say that throughout the summer, people can enjoy the cool breezes while eating Indian specialties on the river's banks. The mayor stated that approximately 20 stalls will be set up, with some of the stalls being set up by famous hotels in Vijayawada.

Bhagyalakshmi stated that the VMC will host cultural activities such as stand-up comedy, live rock bands, and dancing events in addition to giving good cuisine to the inhabitants. She also stated that a comedy show featuring the actors of Jabardast Comedy Show will be organised.
