With your  last minute change of political party, how confident are you about your electoral chances?
I had worked very hard and sincerely in the BJP. Although I was assured of a ticket on three occasions, I was eventually denied  it. The sitting MLA has to be defeated this poll because he has done very little for the constituency. So I and others quit the BJP and joined the JD (S), urging our leader Mr. H D Devegowda to field Prajwal Revanna as a strong candidate.

But it’s claimed the JD (S) too has fielded a weak candidate against the sitting MLA.
This is a baseless allegation. If that was the case there was no need for  us to quit the BJP and join the JD(S). It was only after (state JDS chief)  H D Kumaraswamy said that only two members of his family would fight elections this time that I was given the ticket. Our one point agenda is to defeat the sitting MLA, who has done nothing for the constituency.

What are the major issues in the constituency?
Firstly, women do not feel safe here. It is evident from the way the women corporators are treated. And  the quality of work done by the sitting MLA is of the lowest standard. A fund of Rs 1,600 crore has been simply wasted. All that has been done over the past three months is unscientific asphalting of roads. That's it.  Bills are easily passed for  asphalting and hence the unscientific and low quality of work done in a hurry. Most of the roads  are already in a bad condition.

What are your plans?
Depletion of the groundwater  table here is a concern and my plan is to provide permanent solutions for issues concerning the roads, traffic, water, garbage, playgrounds and the safety of people. Also, encroachment has to be stopped  before the palike approves of the occupation.
