Vedanta says it procured laterite from Andru in compliance with norms

It said that the govt had sought information on the material provided by the supplier and assured to extend full support to the authorities

Vijayawada: The global mining company Vedanta stated that it had procured a luminous laterite from Andru Minerals in strict compliance with all norms from 2014 to 2019.

In response to a report published in these columns titled ‘Illegal mining: Vedanta in focus,’ on Aug. 19, the mining giant, in a statement, said that it had got all mandatory clearances from the department of mines and geology, government of Andhra Pradesh, to use the procured laterite for captive consumption.

It said that the state government had sought information on the material provided by the supplier and assured to extend full support to the authorities. The firm said that it would remain steadfast in its commitment to uphold the highest standards and integrity and ethical practices.
