ALAPPUZHA: Woman Commission member J. Prameela Devi, considering complaints during a sitting here on Friday, observed a widespread tendency among women misusing laws with mala fide intentions. "They are for ensuring care and protection. Nobody can be allowed to abuse them for vendetta. If women are allowed to do so, the justice will evade in genuine cases. Some cases came before the commission had proven male-fide intent," she said.

The panel had considered a case against two senior KSEB officials by a junior subordinate. It sought a report from DySP Kayamkulam on a case against Kayamkulam sub-inspector by a woman. "The number of cases on workplace harassments was staggering," she said. It considered 110 cases and resolved 60 of them amicably, handed over 10 to the RDO, and the rest adjourned for the next sitting.
