Hyderabad: Student ends life after school, home scolding

Hyderabad: Troubled after being scolded by her principal for not completing her homework and later, by her mother for being irregular to school, a class VIII student committed suicide in Hayathnagar on Thursday.

Megavath Nandini allegedly hanged herself in her home. Meanwhile, the Balala Hakkula Sangham has called for a magisterial inquiry into the incident alleging the girl took the extreme step after she was sexually harassed by relatives. Hayathnagar Inspector

J. Narender Goud said the Sri Chaitanya High School,  Hayathnagar, student was irregular to school for the past few days and could not complete her homework.

On Wednesday, school principal, Ms Pallavi, scolded her and on Thursday morning, when she was not willing to go to school, her mother Kala, a daily-wage earner, scolded her. Around 10am, neighbours who came to her house found Nandini hanging from the ceiling.
