E-district Kerala hits 3 crore transaction mark

24 revenue certificate services are offered now

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The number of online transactions through e-district has crossed 3.2 crore mark and nearly 2 crore certificates have been issued over the last three years after the state-wide rollout of the project in 2013.

Kerala State IT Mission director K. Mohammad Y. Safirulla said that it was indeed a remarkable achievement for the state in having crossed 3.2 crore online transactions in a span of just three years. As many as 24 revenue certificate services are offered through e-district now.

Over 1,600 village and taluk officer and over 2,500 Akshaya centres are equipped with online  application processing facility. During the last fiscal 69.32 lakh applications were processed though e-district, which was 19 per cent higher than that during the previous year.

Palakkad district has the  highest number of the transactions during the last fiscal, 8.8 lakh, followed by Malappuram, 8.3 lakh. Palakkad district has topped also in terms of service reach of  approvals during 2015-16, with 261.74 persons per 1,000 population availing the e-district facility.

The average reach of the state was 181.28 per 1,000, IT Mission sources said. The total approval given over e-district during the year was 58.8 lakh. Ernakulam district tops the list in terms of approval rate with 87.77 per cent certificates  followed by Kannur and Wayanad districts. Payments through e-district during 2015-16 increase to tune of Rs 323.04 crore, compared to Rs 267.18 crore in the previous year.
