Kannur University, Calicut University staff to join all-india strike

The Kannur University Employees Union (KUEU) on Tuesday handed over notice for strike to University Registrar.

Kozhikode: The operations at Calicut and Kannur Universities may  be hit on September 2 as the teachers and employees unions have decided to take part in the  proposed nation-wide strike on September 2.  Association of Calicut University Teachers (ACT) said that all the member teachers of the association will support the strike. Solidarity of Calicut University Employees General Secretary P. Abdu Rahiman informed that the organisation will also take part in the strike.
 

The Kannur University Employees Union (KUEU) on Tuesday handed over notice for strike to University Registrar. “It is the need of the hour for all people to join the all-India strike scheduled to be held on September 2 against the Union Government’s anti-people anti-labourer policies,” opined Kannur University Employees Union in a press release.   Federation of University Teachers Associations (FUTA) has also extended its support. All India Federation of University and College Teachers Organisations (AIFUCTO) has given a call for mass casual leave on Sep 5.
