KOZHIKODE: RMP leader K.K. Rema has demanded  the resignation of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan for  feigning ignorance about the convicts included in the remission list. “When a query was raised in the Assembly recently,  he said he had no knowledge of it. None believes that the jail authorities sent the list to the Governor without the knowledge or approval of Pinarayi Vijayan,” she said. Ms Rema warned of  an agitation if those  convicted in the T.P. Chandrasekharan murder case were  given any leniency.

“The government move is a  reward to those who committed the most heinous crime in the state.  The LDF government has been trying to  release the TP case convicts since it assumed power,” she said. RMP leader N. Venu said that the party would go to any extent  to fight the case legally.  He alleged that the government move was as per the promise given by the then CPM state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan to the culprits to save them after they killed Chandrasekharan in 2012.
