Dakshina Kerala Jamiyyathul Ulama to hold rally against Uniform Civil Code

The rally which will start from the Ashramam ground by 4 p.m. will end at cantonment ground by 6.30 p.m.

KOLLAM: The association of Muslim clergy, Dakshina Kerala Jamiyathul Ulama, will  organise a rally of  one  lakh people against the uniform civil code here  on Wednesday. The rally, which will also demand the  protection of sharia law,  is part of the two-day  celebrations of the diamond jubilee of the association with the theme, ‘Islam, the message of humanity.’ The rally which will start  from the Ashramam ground  by 4 p.m. will end at cantonment ground by 6.30 p.m.    

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan  will attend  a meeting to be held under the presidentship of  Ulama president V.M. Moosa Maulavi. Various programmes, including organisational meeting, self-refinement classes and presentation of the  organisation’s plans  for the next three years will be held on Thursday. This will be followed by  a prayer meeting by eminent scholar Maulana K.T. Muhammad Kutty Hazrath (Attassery) by 10.30 a.m.
