TIRUPATI: Tirumala JEO K.S. Sreenivasa Raju along with Tirupati Urban SP Abhishek Mohanty inspected the queue line arrangements on Friday in Tirumala for the upcoming mega religious event of Vaikunta Ekadasi which falls on December 29. As a part of it, they inspected the 2.35 km queue laid starting from Gogarbham Dam Junction near Kalyana Vedika to Vaikuntam Complex.
Speaking to media, the JEO said that after Garuda Seva among the major religious events in Tirumala temple, pilgrims throng in large numbers on this auspicious day of Vaikuntha Ekadasi to have Uttara Dwara Darshanam. “We had provided darshan to nearly 1.7 lakh pilgrims on Vaikunta Ekadasi and Dwadasi. As the auspicious day is falling on Friday this year, due to Dhanurmasa Pujas and Abhisheka Kainkaryam, we can provide darshan to common pilgrims for 39-40 hours on Ekadasi and Dwadasi. As the pilgrims wants to have Uttara Dwara darshan on Vaikuntha Ekadasi on first day itself we will allow the pilgrims into the compartments by 10 am onwards on December 28. To handle the rush we have laid queue lines stretching up to 1.8 km in Narayanagiri Gardens, Alwar Tank and a new line of 2.35 km from Gogarbham Junction to VQC 2 junction for the sake of multitude of visiting pilgrims. ,” he added. To provide security cover to pilgrims from venomous snakes near Gogarbham Forest Area, we are engaging snake catchers and snake repellent chemical powders will be sprayed, he said.
