Kochi: Perumbavor rape and murder case victim’s father on Tuesday filed a petition before Kerala High Court seeking further probe into the case. He moved the court after the Ernakulam Principal Sessions Court dismissed his plea. Victim’s father claimed that the charge sheet submitted by police against Assam native Ameerul Islam is not based on the post-mortem report. He argued that there are differences in the charge sheet and post-mortem report.

He made it clear that the victim being fit and healthy the accused Ameerul Islam will not be able rape and kill her alone. He further submitted he came to know about the trial after the court issued summons. He sought the police to probe into the instance of distributing water through the canal on the banks of which the victim and her mother used to stay. “The claims of police that the accused left his sandal and weapon near the crime scene are dubious.”
