Thiruvananthapuram: The government has constituted a committee to frame guidelines and devise a monitoring mechanism for controlling multi-level marketing firms, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan told the Assembly on Tuesday. He said they were required to ensure the quality of products and services these businesses provide and prevent exploitation of job seekers and initiate welfare measures for them.

A committee headed by civil supplies director was constituted for this with officials of various departments and experts from institutions like Gulati Institute of Finance and Taxation as members, he said in his reply to a submission by S. Sarma.
