Hyderabad: Incessant rains that lashed the city over the past week, besides causing an array of issues, also displaced reptilian inhabitants of the city, with a cobra entering the residential locality of New Vasavi Nagar at Karkhana of Secunderabad.

Areas around it, namely Trimulgherry, Ganesh Nagar Colony, SBH Colony, Padmaja Colony and P&T Colony were severely waterlogged, due to which the snake may have entered the residential area.

However, the reptile was down among the list of problems faced by residents, who alleged water stagnation due to lack of proper drainage. They said the areas get waterlogged whenever there is a downpour.

Telukunta Sathish Gupta, a Secunderabad resident, said, “Along with the other residents, we have approached Cantonment Board CEO Madhukar Naik.”

“In our representation we sought setting up of disaster response force teams, similar to GHMC. There is also a demand from for a new drainage system and also fogging to curb mosquito menace,” he said.
