Thiruvananthapuram: Former ambassador T.P. Sreenivasan said that it was a slap on his right cheek by someone for allegedly championing private universities and collaboration with foreign universities that motivated him to write the book Education of an Ambassador.  Mr Sreenivasan was speaking after releasing the book at a function held in a hotel here on Friday.

He said he planned to write this book as he was an educationist by accident on his experiences as the vice-chairman of the higher education council.  However, he was compelled to write this book after January 29, 2016. Former chief minister Oommen Chandy presided over the event. The book was released by Cardinal Baselios Cleemis by handing over a copy of it to Rajan Gurukkal, who took over from Sreenivasan the post of vice chairman of the council.
