Coimbatore: Officials of the Central Excise and Customs department nabbed a man on Monday at the Coimbatore airport who allegedly tried to smuggle in one-kg of gold bars from Sharjah by concealing them in his rectum.

According to a Customs department source, based on a tip-off, they along with Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) officials maintained a continuous surveillance at Coimbatore International airport since the early hours today.
