Hyderabad: The 33rd Plenary Session of the Indian National Trade Union Congress (Intuc) was inaugurated by All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Mallikarjun Kharge on Wednesday.

The session opened with presidential address of Intuc president G. Sanjeeva Reddy who urged delegates numbering about 7,000 and general council members to help unorganised workers in achieving decent employment and fair pay for a perfect purchasing power for the rural, agricultural and gig workers.

He also criticised the NDA government for its “anti-human” and “anti-labour” policies and demanded that the government immediately withdraw anti-labour rules.

The plenary session was also attended by former MP Karan Singh, MP Digvijay Singh, former ministers Tariq Anwar, and Ramesh Chennithala, global trade union leaders and affiliates of the International Trade Union Confederation, among others.
