Special Buses to Beach for Karthika Pournami Bath

VIJAYAWADA: APSRTC will runs 50 special buses from Machilipatnam to Manginapudi beach for the benefit of devotees wishing to have their holy bath in the sea on the occasion of Karthika Pournami on November 26 and November 27.

Around two lakh devotees are expected to take bath coinciding with the Pournami Tidhi, which will begin in the afternoon of November 26 and end on November 27.

Krishna district joint collector Aparajita Singh instructed officials to provide all amenities on the beach for devotees and visitors.

One-way traffic will be implemented from Baddila Centre to Manginapudi beach on November 26 and November 27 for the smooth passage of vehicles. There will be separate parking for the VIPs arriving at the beach.

Sanitation staff will be working in three shifts on the day. Medical camps and first aid centres will also be set up between Machilipatnam and Manginapudi beach.

Eighty makeshift dress changing rooms are being arranged near the beach for the convenience of women devotees taking bath in the sea.

The collector said free travel arrangements are being made for the physically challenged.

NDRF and State Disaster Response teams will be on duty to deal with emergencies.
