Rich tributes paid to police martyrs
Vijayawada: The ministers, MLAs, MPs, MLCs, officials, and other social activists paid rich tributes to police martyrs and appreciated their services and sacrifices on Saturday on the Police Martyrs Day.
Keeping garland at the Police Martyrs Stupam at Rajamahendravaram, BC welfare minister Ch. Srinivasa Venugopala Krishna said that the police martyrs were being remembered from October 21 to 31 for 10 days. He said that to protect law and order, the police are striving hard with great responsibility. He added that the people should also take responsibility for keeping society peaceful and cooperate with the police. Rajamahendravaram MP M. Bharat, Rajanagaram MLA Jakkampudi Raja, the Superintendent of Police P. Jagadish, and others were present.
At Kakinada, the ML Vanga Gita said that the police personnel and soldiers were rendering great services to society as well as the country. She, along with Kakinada collector Kritika Shukla, the MLAs K. Kannababu, Dwarampudi Chandrasekhara Reddy, Pendem Dorababu, MLC Karri Padmasri, state housing board chairman D. Dorababu, and others paid rich tributes to police martyrs. Kakinada SP Satish Kumar said that 188 police personnel sacrificed their lives for the last one year, out of which one soldier belongs to Andhra Pradesh.
Eluru district collector V. Prasanna Venkatesh said that it is our responsibility to remember the services of the great soldiers and the police personnel, as they are protecting the nation and society around the clock.
