John Philip laid to rest at Manarcaud

The funeral services were held at his house at 3 p.m. and later at the St. Mary's church.

Kottayam: The funeral of John Philip, 46, who was  shot dead by robbers at Ibri in Oman earlier this month,  was held at the St Mary’s Jacobite Church, Manarcaud,  on Tuesday evening. The body, which was brought to Kochi airport on Tuesday morning, was taken to his residence  at Manarcaud  in the  afternoon.  

The funeral services were held  at his house at 3 p.m. and later at the St. Mary’s church. Hundreds of people attended the functions. John Philip   of Cheruvilakathu House, Manarcadu,  was working as a  manager at a petrol station at Sunaina, near Ibri, over  250 km from Muscat.

He was in Oman for the last 13 years. John was missing since June 10 and his body was later found at Masrooq, near Ibri,  last Wednesday night. The Royal Oman Police  arrested six Omani nationals in connection with his abduction and murder.
