Warangal: Alleging that Warangal East MLA Nannapuneni Narender insulted the weavers’ community by putting his leg on a handloom machine during his Munugode bypoll campaign, BC Rajyadhikara Samiti Convener Dasu Suresh along with several members of weavers community organised a Maha Samprokshanam in Warangal on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, Suresh condemned the act of the MLA and alleged that the TRS leader rendered his apologies after community members vehemently opposed his act of folly. The community leader said that Narender did nothing for the welfare of the weavers’ community and will bite the dust in the coming Assembly elections.

He said that due to the efforts taken up by the Samiti, at least half of the people of the community can get the accidental insurance of Rs 5 lakh. He demanded that the state government must implement the scheme for all the weavers in the state.

He also demanded that the state government establish a handloom corporation and invest Rs 100 crore corpus fund to implement the scheme for all the weavers who crossed 59 years of age. The state government also should take steps for implementing the ‘Nethanna Ku Cheyutha’ scheme and must deposit Rs 36,000 directly into the bank accounts of weavers, he demanded.

State executive member of the association Chaparti Kumar, convener of united Warangal district Damerakonda Komuraiah, cooperative society member Kavitha, Rajya Lakshmi and people from the weavers' community participated in the programme.
