Vijayawada: YSRC MLA Kona Raghupathi criticised Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu for trying to mislead the people in the state on the lsat day of the Assembly session that ended on Wednesday.

Speaking to the media, the MLA said that the TD disappointed the public with its poor performance in all areas in the last four years of its rule.

Mr Naidu misled the public by placing a resolution on the Special Category Status (SCS) for the fourth time, he said. “What is the use in passing the resolution in the Assembly at the end of the five-year term,”  he questioned.

Mr Raghupathi recalled that it was Mr Naidu, who had sidelined the issue of SCS, by accepting the special package.

“At first, Naidu praised the Centre saying that it was offering a comprehensive package to the state, but, he later made a U-turn.  Mr Naidu acted as a roadblock to the SCS,” he said.

He alleged that Mr Naidu was being protected by the BJP from punishment in the ‘note for vote’ case.

While making baseless comments against the Opposition parties, the TD is befriending the Congress, he added.
