Fire breaks out at penthouse of software firm in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: Fire broke out at a penthouse of Century building near Cyber Tower, Gachibowli, on Saturday night.

Fire officials said they received the first call at 8.26 pm and two fire tenders from Madhapur were dispatched.

However, firefighters had no access to the building as the fire started in the outdoor units of the air-conditioners.

The building was hired by a software company and being a holiday none of the employees were present except for the security guards who were rescued by the firefighters.

“It took us time to put out the fire as we did not have proper access to the penthouse. The software office was closed. We suspect a short-circuit to be the reason behind the fire initiating,” Madhapur SFO Fazal said.

Cyberabad police registered a case and are investigating.
