Pregnant woman, boy, 5 die in crash, 6 others hurt

Hyderabad: An eight-month pregnant woman and a five-year-old boy died while other six suffered injuries after the car in which they were travelling in rammed into a tree in Yacharam, Ranga Reddy district on Sunday night.

The incident occurred when two families including pastor Sunder Kumar, his wife Radhika, pastor Arun Kumar, his wife Ritu and their kids children Blessy, 3, Shyam, 5, along with their family members Isthari and Jangamma were returning home after attending a mass at a church in Waddepally  village of Nalgonda district, Yacharam police said.

The family had left Hyderabad in the morning in Arun’s car  to attend a prayer service at Waddepally village, Nampally mandal in Nalgonda district. Police said that Arun who was driving lost control and rammed into a tree.

Ritu died on the spot while Shyam succumbed to injuries on the way to the hospital while Blessy’s condition is stated to be critical, police said.

The injured are being treated at a private hospital in Yacharam. Police registered a case of death due to negligence and are investigating.
